Vertical Gym SC

This innovative prefabricated sports complex is designed to address the severe lack of recreational spaces in dense urban areas. With a 3500 m² footprint, it serves up to 1,200 people daily, offering multipurpose sports facilities such as volleyball courts, martial arts areas, a running track, weightlifting zones, and basketball courts.

The project was conceived as a low-cost, multi-level recreation complex, utilizing a modular prefabricated system that allows rapid assembly—under three months—and adaptability to various topographical, climatic, and financial constraints. Its concrete foundations support a metal column structure, ensuring natural ventilation and daylight integration while maintaining durability.

To date, three have been built in Caracas, with planned expansions in Amman and São Paulo. I contributed to the on-site construction of the most recent facility in Caracas, supporting the implementation and assembly of modular components to ensure efficient execution within the urban landscape.

This project is crucial in fostering safe, shared spaces for underserved communities, encouraging values such as fair play, teamwork, and tolerance—providing a much-needed alternative to violence and crime for local youth.
